The Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) has continued to provide education on standards-related issues to citizens and entrepreneurs visiting the 12th Zanzibar International Trade Fair, which is being held at the Dimani Grounds.
Speaking during the exhibition, TBS Public Relations Officer, Ms. Gloria Mgomberi, said that the objective of providing this education is to increase public awareness so that citizens can observe and comply with standards requirements for products sold in the market.
She explained that visitors to the TBS pavilion at the exhibition are being educated on the importance of complying with product standards, as well as the need to read information provided on product packaging before making purchases.
Ms. Gloria emphasized that this initiative aims to protect consumers’ health and safety and to control substandard products from entering the market.
